Having seen Warren Haynes in 1988 with the Dickey Betts Band, and soon after on the Allman Brothers Band’s Dreams tour, my appreciation for his playing and singing grew through his continued time with ABB, his solo work, and the birth of Gov’t Mule. In the late ’90s, Kirk Anderson started a tape tree called eMule, a family of tapers and traders. I joined around that time and contributed to album art, merchandise, and an early website. Along the way, I made many friends, some I still have to this day, who have helped with live taped compilations.
